It would appear that this McDonald family were the MacBride McDonalds. DOF lists him only as Donald Angus MacBride. Given the naming conventions, he would be Donald, son of Angus, of the MacBride McDonalds. See MacLean, History of Antigonish v 1 p 85-6:

                       Sine Cameron was born at Sron-a-Li, Lochaber, Scotland.1 Sine Cameron was also known as Jean Cameron as listed in several records in IGI.2 Sine Cameron was also known as Jane Cameron in the Anglicized version.3 She married Dougald Cameron, son of Ewen Cameron, circa 1770.4 Sine Cameron was widowed by the death of Dougald Cameron say 1784; based on birth of Rev Mr Ewan CAMERON in 1785 to his wife Sine and Dougald CAMERON. Kilmallie is the old name given to land north of Loch Eil and west of the river Lochy. Today the name is preserved by the local Parish Church. There are three Church buildings; a two-hundred year old building in Corpach, a more modern one in Caol and a lovely Chapel hidden in the forest of Achnacarry. DOF says that Dougald and Sine lived in Sron-a-Li, Lochaber, in the Fort William area. According to LDS records, Dougald and Sine's sons were born in Strone Lea, Kilmallie . Kilmallie is only about 4 miles from Fort William on the A830.
