The following was found in the Tewksbury Almshouse Inmate Case
Histories, Vol. 72, 9/ 1895 to 12/1895, Tewksbury, MA, case 104441:
"MURPHY, Peter, 57, came there from Boston, Oct. 26, 1895, 58 born in
Antigonish Co., N. S., married, carpenter. To Mass. and Boston 1880,
there 1 year, South Framingham 6 months, Boston and vicinity since. Not
naturalized. Paid poll twice only. Ancestors never in the U. S.
Parents, Peter and Catherine nee Kelliher, died in Ireland. Wife in
Boston, no address last 4 years. H. B. twice. Former inmate No. 99342.
Dis. April 13, 1896."

MCKENZIE, Herbert, 24, came there from Boston, Nov. 4, 1895. 24, born
in Antigonish, N. S., single, laborer. To Maine from N. S. 6 years ago,
in Bangor, Holton and Aroostook Co. till 8 mos. then to Mass. and here
since. Ancestors never resided in Mass. Parents: Phillip and Sarah
nee Burns, father dead. Mother in Antigonish, N. S. No relatives in
Mass. In no other institution. Wants to go to N. S.

GRANT, Daniel, 35, came there from Boston Dec. 17, 1895. 35 born in
Antigonish, N. S., single, carpenter. To Mass. from N. B. in March
1889. Boston and vicinity since. Not naturalized. No poll. Ancestors
never resided in Mass. Parents: William and Eliza nee McIntyre.
Mother dead, don't know about father. No address of relatives. In no
other institution. Discharged Jan. 1, 1896
