Donald Angus McDonald (MacBride) was the son of Angus MacDonald and Mary MacDonald.3
Because of the large numbers of people with the same name in an area (particularly names like M(a)cDonald and Chisholm) nicknames were applied. It would appear that this McDonald family were the MacBride McDonalds. DOF lists him only as Donald Angus MacBride. Given the naming conventions, he would be Donald, son of Angus, of the MacBride McDonalds. See MacLean, History of Antigonish v 1 p 85-6: "In the year 1801 the ship "Nora" with 500 immigrants... Angus McDonald (MacBride), a native of Knoydart, and Roderick Chisholm, a native of Strathglass, two of the Nora immigrants, were the pioneers of ...
